Highway 93, otherwise known as the Icefields Parkway, is a scenic highway running north from Banff through to Jasper. This is certainly one of the most beautiful drives in the world, and well worth a day or two.

The Icefields Parkway stretches 230 km from Banff to Jasper and easily contains some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Glacial lakes, towering mountain peaks, and an abundance of wildlife make this a drive you won't ever forget.
The highway is generally in excellent condition though it isn't uncommon to receive some snow as late as June or early July in some of the higher elevations. The speed limit is set at 90 km/h and this is for your safety - and the safety of the park's wildlife. While you may be lucky enough to not see another car on the road, there are so many mountain goats and big horn sheep that lazily cross the road that the last thing you need is to fly around a corner and hit one.
About halfway along the highway you'll come to the Athabasca Glacier, just inside the boundary of Jasper National Park. It's well worth a stop here to see such a wonder of nature.
It's best to take your time and appreciate the amazing scenery that any drive on the Icefields Parkway affords it's visitors. Stop and take pictures, have lunch, and enjoy the drive. Parks Canada publishes a brochure detailing more information about the route, and it's worth a read - pick it up at any park information office.
